Poem54.For You Myself

For You, Myself

Brimming with joy
on finding myself
the carefree bold
happy dear me.

was always lamenting
without reason
what was wrong
why not happy.

having everything
family comforts
amenities surrounded
but  never satisfied.

thought it was other's fault
blamed always the dear God
for putting me in unhappiness
leaving  to, suffer inside.

Never ever doubted
the problem was with me
was trying to be someone
wife ,mother..... ideal.

To be someone ,to be ideal
good to hear but not practical.
Be yourself ,your true self
then all is well, for you myself.

Great truth in your poem, a reflection of all of us. I finally figured out the common denominator in all my relationships was me.

I like very much the duality of the title; "For you Myself".

Your poem reflects the struggle that many have in self-discovery.
Once discovered it is yourself for others.

That's right Rashmi- hope this is fiction that you have written here!

I have lived all though the words written here. I just couldn't help being my own self- n perhaps that's why I am how I am- completely on my own. I am not sure if this is how I wanted it but... couldn't smudge my self identity :)

Oh maaann.. I really like the simplicity and honesty in this poem! And it's so true for so many of us...
we blame everything and everyone around for all that happens to us.. never once realizing that most of it is OUR doing, and OUR choice!

I think you are very rave to accept that, my friend.. and that by itself is the first step to being true to self..
Really liked the message in this poem!!
