My Wanderings
Walking on that old street again
as a stranger after many years
those were walks where I had roamed
as a child happy careless .
Here yes, my heart leaps out
as a kid when sees her dear.
This place in the remote village
touched inside ,made me want to cry.
A temple surrounded by small forest
the heart and soul of that village.
So much has changed out there
but was reliving my wanderings.
those were walks where I had roamed
as a child happy careless .
Here yes, my heart leaps out
as a kid when sees her dear.
This place in the remote village
touched inside ,made me want to cry.
A temple surrounded by small forest
the heart and soul of that village.
So much has changed out there
but was reliving my wanderings.
Beautiful there seemed to me
may be due to the happy memories
wonder what magic that place hold
just being there made me happy.
may be due to the happy memories
wonder what magic that place hold
just being there made me happy.
Do places have effect on us?
Does visiting a place change our moods?
Is it the effect of place or our mind
which is really playing the game?

Poignant and thought provoking, I wandered with you here, beautiful!
Do places have effect on us?
Yes, they do..
Does visiting a place change our moods?
I feel it does often!
Is it the effect of place or our mind
which is really playing the game?
You know that one- don't you?
It's always our perception- even a bit of change pushes our moods through!!
Very well written Rashmi- mwaaaah xx
beautiful work..

Interesting musing, eclectic use of English.
My statement of my emotions too...
Yes, at times, a place made me want to cry and just as you wrote, I do wonder what magic a certain place hold... Does the places have effect on us or visiting it simply change our moods...
Looks like we have the same wandering in wander... :)
Here, have a drink with me as we sit down to think, shall we?

It is a cocktail drink and hope you will enjoy it.. :)
Rashmi,
I really found a connection with the words from your poem.
When I return to visit the city of my birth, I have very mixed emotions too. It is good to recall.
Best wishes, Eileen
I love the question and the poem.

Beautiful one Rashmi... Even I had the same experience a couple of weeks ago... when I happened to visit my dearest place ( where I spent my childhood days)again....after a long..long time...
Really made me cry....
Sweet Nostalgia.
I hear ya, my friend.. this was so nostalgic and lovely!!
I actually do believe that places and people have somewhat of an effect on us... they are really very inspiring... Or maybe I'm just an emotional gal.. :)
Whatever it is, I really enjoyed and FELT this poem, Rashmi...

Oh they certainly do, with me especially. I haven't been on a trip for few months and I absolutely need to go some place new and have my pretty energy charged! Lovely poem, liked it a lot!
Yes, it is a thought provoking poem.
There is so much of us still there, we can't help but feel emotion when we go home.
you affect my heart so I looked back on mine...thanks :)
Some things never change! The impact the place has on our mind is timeless! Here is mine: http://jaanpehchaan.wordpress.com/2011/04/02/pale-in-pain/
