Great Me
Had pictured myself perfect
in the eye of my mind
something goes if wrong
blame fell, never on me.
Never was aware the fact
I'm not what I think
until I saw the image
in my dear one's eyes.
One's friend can be a mirror
if you choose to see
but fact is that we don't
like to see the truth.
See ourselves beautiful
try to blame, others,
the world or whatever,
but never, the great me.
Written for "The Mag" where we have to write a poem or short vignette using the picture featured as inspiration.

So true ... the world or ~ whatever!
Very reflective. How we see ourselves and how others see us.
No not the great you! ))
I love this! SO TRUE. That is also why the ones we love hurt us the most (sometimes)... they can see the real us and aren't afraid to tell us when we are less than perfect. :)
nicely reflected...thanks for sharing your words
nice words :)
No one is perfect. Nice poem.
wow, that's great how you express it! Love to visit it back soon, cheers_nice read!~Jigme
I like your interpretation of the mirror as reflected in the eyes of others. This is how I, too, believe. Nicely written.
True and well said.
Deep and thought provoking, wonderfully written Rashmi.
This is very wonderful and full of awareness about the human condition. Rashmi, you said you feel the urge to tell people in power what you feel - I encourage you to do it, and I will too. Our voices must be heard - all of our voices across the globe. Thanks so much for your comment!
